Our Values
It is no secret that people with disabilities experience high degrees of social isolation. S.E.L.F prioritizes the social connectedness and economic opportunities necessary for the improvement and growth of the disability community.
The ability to speak for oneself and to speak up for others is vital for the disability community to achieve full-citizenship. From supported decision-making to voting rights, S.E.L.F. works to empower its members and amplify each of their individual voices.
The crossroads where other identities meet with disability is often overlooked. However, intersectionality stays essential to each person’s social experience. The inclusion and recognition of these differences remains a primary concern for S.E.L.F.’s mission.
